Radio phone interviews

Grabbing a spokesperson at the end of a phone line for a quick interview is the fastest (and cheapest!) way of getting an interviewee on the air.

This doesn't always work in your favour. The quality of the phone line might be poor. Interruptions from the interviewer can get untidy. Not having the interviewer opposite you means you're flying blind.

As the interview is conducted over a phone line, rather than in or from a studio, these interviews tend to be kept short.

Our radio phone interview training covers:

  • How to ensure your voice comes across clearly
  • What happens when there are interruptions
  • Handling 'satellite delay' on the phone line
  • Keeping everything tight
