Neil Bennett
From 1995-2001, Neil was Sports Correspondent reporting live and in recorded packages for all the main TV News programmes. He reported from the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000. He also covered the Euro 96 Championship and the World Cup in France in 1998.
Neil's role was always in the news side of sports journalism concentrating on the issues behind what happens on the pitch. He has reported extensively on the misuse of drugs in sport and on bribery scandals in football and cricket.
Most recently Crime Correspondent with the BBC, covering major crimes and penal policy, Neil has also worked as Ireland Correspondent and Home Affairs Correspondent.
Neil has spoken at media awareness courses for senior police officers and prison governors. He also helped to design and conduct the media interview test for police officers seeking promotion to ACPO ranks.
