An international airline arranged two days of training for UK and country managers
“The course was highly insightful, valuable and conducted in a very professional manner by great facilitators”
“Extremely useful. Excellent practical role plays”
“A very valuable experience”
One of the UK's busiest airports needed to train those manning their out-of-hours "media phone", giving them practice in dealing with journalists' inquiries. But this was not interview training - the brief was to show the delegates how to react when a big story breaks, or when the reporters are chasing a potentially awkward or embarrassing story. We exposed them to a series of scenarios, recording their responses to press and broadcast demands. In the course of the day, the delegates lost their initial fear of the media, responding with increasing confidence to persistent or aggressive questioning.
"Invaluable in providing me with the confidence to tackle questions without the ability to prepare beforehand"
"Very good, very relevant, obvious improvement throughout the day"
"Very good, well structured, very productive day"
One of the train operating companies put their directors and managers through three days of crisis training with HarveyLeach. The training focussed on how the company would handle the media following a terrorist attack on one of its trains.
"Very worthwhile experience. Excellent de-briefs, professional delivery and realistic scenarios"
"Perhaps one of the best training courses I have attended. The pace and analysis were spot on"
"Excellent - very realistic scenarios and honest feedback"
"Would recommend this course to anyone having to talk to the media"
Following the train attacks in Madrid and the London bombings, a railway company organised two disaster training courses with us - specifically, how to handle the media when terrorists strike. On the first course, the company's Managing Director and Operations Director were put in front of the cameras during the crucial first hours. A month later we trained press officers and customer service managers in how to handle the avalanche of phone calls and interview requests that would follow when the story breaks.
"Professionally delivered and very comprehensive"
"The genuine journalistic approach in interviews gave the day a realism it could easily have lost"
"Excellent, well planned and executed"
"Very experienced journalists and a convincing exercise"
A major airport, preparing for huge expansion over the coming years, turned to HarveyLeach to sharpen up their media responses. A series of realistic, tension-inducing interviews brought home the difficulty of explaining issues which will have a profound effect on the local community and the environment.
"An excellent session, very informative with plenty of techniques and lessons learnt"
"Totally relevant and well put together"
"Tailored to our business"
